 Do people still blog?
I was just informed of the upcoming Marching Band Benefit concert, called GopherStock, at the Varsity Theater featuring Vertigo Joe, hosted by Tau Beta Sigma. What the fuck Kappa!? You totally let Tau Beta steal Band-Aid. Sure, the initial try was a disaster, but that's because of bad timing and way over budget. But everyone that attented had fun, and its still an awesome idea.

I went to the Illinois/Gopher basketball game last week. Thanks, trombones, for playing Indians-Halftime. That's my favorite. Whenever Blaser would let me direct, I would call Indians-Halftime.

I bought the album, The Kinks 'Are the Village Green Preservation Society'. It completely blew me away! I don't think an album has had this kind of affect on me in a long time, if ever. Its Sgt. Pepper's, Highway 61, and Bookends all rolled into one. Simply perfect.

As a member of TBS, I was under the impression that TBS and Kappa were given a chance to help, and that Kappa didn't respond. My memory could be faulty though.

Untrue. This concert is for the Varsity Theatre project, with some proceeds from Vertigo Joe sales coming to the band. It wasn't a straight up KKP/TBS project. We are all just helping with ticket sales and advertising.

PS- The new PM class brainstormed a "Band Aid" as one of their projects with no prompting from us at all. There may be a second triannual concert eventually.

Also untrue is the fact that Band Aid One was "fun." I attended and can comment to the contrary. Check and mate.

I learned of it only because I am on MN Brass listserv, and a former member of Brass is drumming in another band that is playing that night - Jesse Lang's band.  Or maybe that's a whole 'nother U of M Marching Band benefit concert being played at The Varsity.

Either way, I still think its a good, fun idea and Kappa and/or Tau Beta should make it a regular thing. Just not the Sunday after Spring Jam at the Alumni Center.

Yeah, the Varsity Theater (now that it's open) seems like a perfect venue.  A bit more "hipster" and so better-suited for the music scene.
